We were asked the other day about how to monitor for people copying content from your website and publishing it on their own, apparently an accountant had had large sections of their website copied and re-published on another accountant’s website but it was months before they realised this had happened and even then it was only because some kind soul tipped them off about it.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Trewin Bookkeeping Services on the design and implementation of their new website, the site went live last night at www.trewinbookkeepingservices.co.uk.

I will hold my hands up and say that, left to my own devices, I am not the most organised of people in the world. If I have an idea or something pops into my mind that needs doing I will usually jot it down on a scrap of paper and carry on with what I was doing. However, what I have increasingly found is that scraps of paper get lost and I end up a week later thinking to myself “I’m sure there was something I wanted to do with that website”. This is why I have decided to put technology to use and embrace a To-Do List app, something that will prompt me to do something and record what has and hasn’t been done.

This is going to be a relatively brief post and is in reaction to a few questions and answers I have come across this weekend regarding Google+ and businesses. I recently came across a question from a small business owner (an accountant) who was wondering whether it was worth his time to set up, optimise and maintain a Google+ business page, he complained that maintaining a Twitter and Facebook account was time consuming enough. The advice that he received took me a little by surprise, he was advised that Google+ was a complete waste of time and that he was better off investing his efforts into his ongoing Twitter and Facebook pages. Now you may well be asking “so what? nobody uses Google+ anyway!” and if you are then this blog post is aimed specifically at you.

We have the great pleasure of introducing our latest client, Hashtag Accountants based in Wolverhampton. A new company, Hashtag had already had their logo and branding designed by a third party and so had very clear ideas on how they wanted the website to look. The blue was used to tie in with the Hashtag logo and the font used on the website also mirrors the logo font, tying everything together.

The homepage has a jQuery content slider to present information to the visitor, all linked to various inside pages. Every page has contact information and links to the various social networks that Hashtag are using.

The contact page comes with a contact form with built in spam protection allowing potential, or existing, clients an easy way to contact the company.

Today is a momentous day for us as we officially go live with our marketing service for accountants, i’d like to take this blog post as an opportunity to introduce the service, the company and (most importantly) our mascot, Marketing Man.
